Video: OMRON F3SG Light Curtain Warning Zone Using SD Manager2 Software

Set dip Switch # 8 of both SW1 and SW2 on the receiver to the ON position. 2. Go on line with the light curtain. 3. Set the light curtain to factory default. If you need help with this procedure review “F3SG-RA Getting On Line and Reset to Factory Demonstration Video Using SD Manager2 Software” video. 4. Select “Muting/Override” button under the Function Setting area of the software. This will get you into the Muting/Override window. 5. Select “Disable” radio button in the upper right hand corner of the window to disable Muting Function. Muting function zone can’t overlap Warning Zone! 6. Select “Warning Zone” button under the Function Setting area of the software. This will get you into the Warning Zone window. 7. Using the Warning Zone pull down select ether “Enable from Upper” or “Enable from Lower” in the upper right hand corner. ______ A. Setting by Manual setting if the numbers of the beams used in the warning zone are known and the object is present or not present: 1. Select “Manual” radio button to enter the manual setting mode. 2. Use the pull down of the “Top Beam” or “Bottom Beam” depending on enable from upper or lower selection above and select the number of the beams to be used in the warning zone. You can also use the designate from chart option for this step. 3. Select “Confirm Zone” button to save the configured settings. This should then fill the number of beams selected under the Warning Zone chart on the bottom of the main chart in RED. B.Setting by Teach-in setting if the numbers of the beams blocked are unknown and the object is blocking the beams: 1. Select “Teach-in” radio button to enter the teach-in setting mode. This should activate the main chart and indicate which beams are presently blocked. 2. If everything looks good select “Confirm Zone” to save the configured settings in the software. This should then fill the number of beams selected under the Warning Zone chart on the bottom of the main chart in RED. ________ 8. Select “Top page” button at the top of the window to go back to the main page. 9. Select “Lamp Setting” button under the Function Setting area of the software. This will get you into the Lamp Setting window. 10. Under the Auxiliary Output area use the pull down for Output Operation Mode and select Warning Zone information. This will switch the Muting Lamp on the demo to indicate a Warning Zone infraction. 11. Select the “Write configuration” button to write the settings to the light curtain. This will bring up a write configuration window. To initiate the write select the “Write” button. Settings will then transfer to the light curtain. 12. To activate the light curtain you can go to the “Monitor “ button on the top of the page or cycle power to the unit. 13. Test the system by moving an object into the warning zone and see if the Muting/Warning Zone indicator lights. You can use the warning zone in conjunction with Fixed Blanking, Floating Blanking, Muting but you do need to make sure the zones do not overlap; otherwise you will get an error in the software. So if these functions are needing to be used together set these zones first and then set up the warning zone after that making sure they do not overlap.
